Challenge events for 2021

19th May 2021

The easing of covid restrictions means we can get back to running and other outdoor challenge events. Find out what's happening and how you can get involved.

Fundraising is vital to everything we do.

Without our fundraisers, we'd be unable to answer 1,300 calls, chats and emails from people affected by stammering every year. We’d be unable to provide workshops for parents and young people or offer social events that bring our community together.

The effect of COVID-19 on our fundraising activities has been devastating. In 2021, we're coming back with a bang.

With outdoor activities reopening, we've launched 5k May. To celebrate the first birthday of our webchat — the world’s first dedicated service for supporting people who stammer — we're asking our members to donate £5, nominate 5 friends to do the same, and walk or run 5k to support out work.
But there’s still more to be done. We're on the hunt for walkers and runners to put their best foot forward and fundraise for STAMMA.

Whether you’re a tried and tested runner, or you've never done a sponsored run before and you’d prefer to walk the route, we’re looking for volunteers across the country to get involved.

  • 25th July 2021, London.

The ASICS London 10k will mark our first big fundraiser since the start of the pandemic. Walking or running an iconic London route, STAMMA volunteers will be there to cheer you on. Learn more.

  • 4th September 2021, Liverpool.

Join our team at the iconic Aintree Racecourse for either a 5k (three miles), 10k (six miles) or half marathon (thirteen miles). A route for all abilities.  Learn more.

  • 10th October 2021, Alcester (near Birmingham).

A countryside jog along a flat route, the Alcester 10k is a real community event, with our STAMMA Birmingham group on hand to lend moral support! Learn more.

  • 13th October 2021, London.

Perfect for beginners, Chase The Moon is an evening 5k or 10k walk or run — your choice! — around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, taking place in the run up to International Stammering Awareness Day. Learn more.

Entry for these runs is paid for by STAMMA, and we’ll even send you one of our much sought after running vests for free!

If you'd like to find out more about representing STAMMA as a sponsored runner, or you have a fundraising idea of your own, drop us an email at fundraising@stamma.org.
